Varsity Tennis Second at St. John

The AHS tennis team went a combined 9 wins and 3 losses at St. John on September 11 to finish in second place in the four-team meet and a win in a tie-breaker would have given AHS the team championship.
The only first place finisher was the number two doubles team of Grace Golden and Morgan Woodruff, defeating St. John 8-3, Hoisington 8-7 (7-5) and Cimarron 8-2 to finish with a record of 3-0.
All other AHS entries finished with identical records of 2-1, each beating St. John and Cimarron but losing to Hoisington, and each taking 2nd place in the meet.
The number one singles player Abigail Spare defeated St. John 8-6 and Cimarron 8-2, but lost to Hosington 1-8. The number one doubles team of Aspen McCann and Joanna Reimer beat St. John 8-1 and Cimarron 8-0 but was beaten by Hosington 7-8 (4-7). The number two singles player Arasely Quintana beat St. John and Cimarron both by scores of 8-1, and lost to Hoisington 0-8.
