Football Wins First of Season

The young Ashland Bluejay Football team got their first victory of the season Friday night in Bucklin. Going against a Bucklin team hungry for their first win since September 2008 the Bluejays were able to hold the Red Aces off late for a 22-14 victory. Nathan Reimer was able to find the endzone twice on the night and Andres Munoz was able to provide the other touchdown of the night. Kole Konrade and Jorge Saravia each contributed one two point conversion.
The win raises the Bluejays season record to 1-4 and gave them a most important victory in their first district contest. Ashland returns to action Friday at home against Rolla in their second district game.
